Job Description
PRINCIPAL ENGINEER, INFORMATICA: AbbVie, Inc. - Vernon Hills, IL
Responsible for designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions for data migration and MDM integrating applications in alignment with architecture and requirements. Enable data quality, transformation, and validation rules using Informatica Power center, Data quality and Master data management applications. Engage with business stakeholders for requirement gathering and analysis. Identify the solutions and build functional mapping documents. Verify daily end-to-end evaluations of locations master data coming into MDM via inbound and processing through match/merge/survivorship. Design, engineer, and implement technical solutions for interfaces, conversions, forms, workflows, data quality, and publishing/synchronization. Analyze error records and identify root cause of process gaps, providing recommendations. Work with various development and business teams to correct data errors, providing technical leadership across the master data management and data migration suite. Collaborate with architects on the creation of technical roadmaps, standards, tooling & frameworks required to create a modern, high quality, rich application suite. Build Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions. Design for the reusability, maintainability, and reliability of technical solutions relative to business expectations. Develop technical objects and test scripts for data migration including data verification, integrity, and performance and ensure technical test planning and execution, to minimize issues and defects using Informatica Data Quality, Master data management and MKS for code migrations. Identify and quantify risk, makes recommendations for risk mitigation and contingency plans, promptly escalating anticipated risks to the proper management. Employ experience in programming languages such as Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting. Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day technical and development activities with outsourced system integrator and support teams including identification and root cause resolution of risks and issues. Provide advanced level 3 troubleshooting in support of informatica and integrated systems. Ensure all documentation, regulatory, and compliance policies procedures are followed including SOX, GxP, information security, and SDLC.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Business Information Systems, Electronics Engineering, or a highly related field of study with at least five (5) years of related experience in the following: (i) enabling data quality, transformation, and validation rules using Informatica Power center, Data quality and Master data management applications; (ii) designing, engineering, and implementing technical solutions for interfaces, conversions, forms, workflows, data quality, and publishing/synchronization; (iii) developing technical objects and test scripts for data migration including data verification, integrity, and performance and ensure technical test planning and execution, to minimize issues and defects using Informatica Data Quality, Master data management and MKS for code migrations; and (iv) programming languages such as Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting.
