The Opportunity

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Reliability & Maintenance Engineering Specialist. This position will play a key role in continuing to grow this service offering within our rapidly growing Specialized Solutions group.

Working with the Maintenance Management Practice Leader provide leadership, guidance and development in reliability engineering and facilities condition assessment activities with a focus on increasing asset availability, maintenance optimization and reducing risk. Work directly with clients in the Government and Environmental space to bring real world experience, recommendations, and practices for adoption in advancing the maturity of maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist clients in developing and implementing best practice standards for reliability engineering

+ Develop asset lifecycle plants for various types of equipment that include maintenance schedules

+ Develop standards for and perform Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA)

+ Develop standard for and perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

+ Analyze FMECA / RCFA results and make recommendations for improvements in maintenance practices and/or capital project development

+ FacilitateReliability Centered Design/Reliability Centered Maintenance processes

+ Develop standards for and conduct facilities conditions assessments

+ Analyze facilities condition assessment results and make recommendations for improvements in maintenance practices and/or capital projects

+ Facilitate criticality analysis and critical spares analysis

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent with 5-10 years of related experience

+ Associate Degree or trades/vocational experience with a minimum of 10-15 years of relative experience in reliability maintenance

+ Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)

+ Certifications in the use of Vibration, Oil, Infrared Analysis or other condition monitoring tools

+ Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to interface with all levels in a organization

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years’ experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
