The Senior Estimator will be responsible for performing FEL 1 and 2 estimates, leading and developing EPC and bid check estimates for Midstream projects (emphasis on compressor stations). This position will develop accurate bottoms up estimates in a credible and professional manner while minimizing risk to the company.

+ Develop factored and bottoms up FEL 1 and 2 (conceptual, feasibility and budget authorization) estimates for Midstream projects, and in particular compressor stations

+ Lead estimating strategy and implementation efforts.

+ Develop estimate schedules to manage workload and ensure timely completion of estimates

+ Review RFP and engineering documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work.

+ Responsible for detail documentation of quantity take offs and constructability analysis

+ Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions.

+ Review project summary schedules for validity.

+ Develop risk registers and assist risk review process.

+ Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology ensuring quality estimates are produced.

+ Lead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of project.

+ Responsible for reviewing and incorporating quotes on bonds and insurance.

+ Review and approve small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluations.

+ Lead subcontractor pre-qualification, solicitation and bid reviews.

+ Review and verify subcontractor bid packages before being transmitted for quotes.

+ Responsible for reviewing and incorporating specialty and standard equipment and material pricing.

+ Estimate general conditions, indirect costs and review with project management team.

+ Responsible for the review of final estimate and presentation to management.

+ Present the estimate to internal and external clients.

+ Make final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation.

+ Provide man hour estimate for required estimating effort and review with Section Manager.

+ Verify and approve estimates for joint venture reviews.

+ Review and validate value engineering items, alternates, and options.

+ Lead estimating teams for completion of pre-construction services.

+ Responsible for updating cost history and data base management.

+ Train and mentor staff.

+ All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

+ 7 years of experience with Oil, Gas, Chemical EPC or construction contractors estimating or in the field

+ 4 years of estimating experience

+ Must have extensive knowledge and experience developing estimates and bidding midstream construction work

+ Must be very familiar with factors that affect work productivity, be able to identify them and appropriately incorporate them into cost estimates

+ Ability to work independently or in groups, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office and in particular Excel.

+ May be required to obtain an OSHA 10-hour safety certification

Compensation:

$128,000 – $178,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.

Location

The location preference for this position is Kansas City, MO. However, we would consider candidates located in Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX and Chicago, IL.
