Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes, works, and acts in a manner consistent with the mission of The Queen of Squash Company
  • Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen line equipment, plus preparation and storage areas
  • Stocks and rotates products on cooking line
  • Thaws meats and follows safety principles
  • Uses thermometers to determine proper food temperatures
  • Stores food in the correct manner to avoid contamination
  • Has sufficient knowledge of cooking stations, menu items and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, cooking time and performance standards
  • Cooks and prepares menu items according to guest requests
  • Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness
  • Anticipates, identifies, and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
  • Communicates with the General Manager and co-workers regarding product/services deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems
  • Complies with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach with co-workers
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinates with and assists fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant, market, and catering
