Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes, works, and acts in a manner consistent with the mission of The Queen of Squash Company
- Uses, maintains, and cleans all kitchen line equipment, plus preparation and storage areas
- Stocks and rotates products on cooking line
- Thaws meats and follows safety principles
- Uses thermometers to determine proper food temperatures
- Stores food in the correct manner to avoid contamination
- Has sufficient knowledge of cooking stations, menu items and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, cooking time and performance standards
- Cooks and prepares menu items according to guest requests
- Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness
- Anticipates, identifies, and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
- Communicates with the General Manager and co-workers regarding product/services deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems
- Complies with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintains a positive and professional approach with co-workers
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement
- Coordinates with and assists fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant, market, and catering
