Job Description
Job Summary:
The Compliance Analyst Senior is an experienced compliance professional actively contributing to the daily operations and related activities of the Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center ("Medical Center") Compliance and Integrity Program. This position will focus on supporting the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance in the Stanley Manne Children's Research Institute and report directly to the Office of Research Integrity and Compliance Director.

Job Responsibilities:
Serves as a collaborative resource to the Medical Center's leadership, employees, medical staff, and others on compliance-related topics and issues, including privacy topics and issues.
Maintains a working knowledge of the healthcare enforcement environment and all applicable federal and state laws, statutes, and regulations, including laws and regulations pertaining to participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, fraud and abuse laws, and privacy and regulatory compliance programs.
Assists in responding to regulatory investigations, such as investigations conducted by the Department of Justice or the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General.
Works with leadership to establish policies and procedures to address areas of reputational, legal, regulatory, and other compliance risk affecting the Medical Center.
Conducts research and prepares reports regarding federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as other compliance topics.
Builds awareness of and knowledge about the Compliance and Integrity Program, such as by presenting at orientations and in other venues, contributing to messaging to the workforce, and drafting tools and resources.
Responds to workforce inquiries and timely and appropriately notifies employees, leaders, and other stakeholders about compliance matters.
Conducts and coordinates investigations, facilitating the timely resolution of issues reported through compliance reporting mechanisms, including reports of alleged violations of law, regulation, and policy.
Manages files and data concerning investigations and other follow up on reports and performs analytics to identify trends and themes.
Assists in the implementation of programmatic activities, including, but not limited to, exclusion screening processes, the conflict of interest disclosure process, and review and resolution of potential conflicts of interest.
Contributes to internal compliance-related committees and other meetings in support of the Compliance and Integrity Program.
Develops, executes, and manages detailed project plans and status reports.
Maintains a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring.

Education and Experience:
Three-to-five years of healthcare compliance experience with experience in an academic medical center preferred.
Relevant postgraduate degree or other demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the health care industry's regulatory environment.
Certification by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) required or must be earned within the first year of employment.
Demonstrated capability to address diverse compliance assignments, including the capability to prioritize and independently manage designated matters and investigations.
Skilled in researching state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Demonstrates flexibility and adapts to change while maintaining adequate focus on the organization's commitments and the requirements of external entities.
Must possess highly effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate directly, openly, and effectively with both internal and external parties, including the organization's governing body.
Must possess superb listening skills and be a continuous learner.
Must possess strong conceptual and analytical skills.
Must be decisive and exercise good judgment under pressure.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
