Job Description
AbbVie US LLC in Lake County, IL seeks qualified Director, Strategy, Planning, and Operations. Develop commercial marketing and sales strategies to capture additional growth opportunities and operational improvements that optimize business execution utilizing Excel modeling, Alteryx analytics, Tableau visualization, financial and investment modeling, business and strategy analytics. Responsible for overseeing the work duties of 1 direct report (Associate Director). Work with the President of overall business and VPs of specific franchise to communicate business and operational reviews with US Commercial and AbbVie Executive Leadership. Collaborate with each franchise brand teams, Finance, Medical, R&D, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Market Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Sales Training, Sales Force Effectiveness, Regulatory, Customer Experience, and other cross franchise teams. Capture additional value in short term (12-24 months) across multiple franchises. Identify long-term growth (e.g., Strategy LRP, BD strategy, Roadmap and Brand planning) across the Neuroscience and Eye Care business. Communicate business and operational reviews to senior Commercial and Executive leadership. Responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners, e.g., Finance, Compliance and HR. Facilitate effective and collaborative cross-functional engagements to build organizational capabilities, e.g., with IBT, COMx, Medical, Compliance HEOR, Business Technology Solutions, etc. Collaborate with HR to develop and execute EEDI strategies to enhance a culture of diversity and inclusion. Perform data and finance analysis using Microsoft Excel, and develop and present insights using Microsoft PowerPoint. Responsible for coordinating with IR and Communications PR to develop consistent and compelling Neuroscience and Eye Care for investor and analyst engagement. Employ experience working within matrix-based teams and project management. 30% domestic travel required.
PhD or foreign academic equivalent in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences or a highly related field of study with at least two (2) years of related experience in the following: (i) developing commercial marketing and sales strategies to capture additional growth opportunities and operational improvements that optimize business execution utilizing Excel modeling, Alteryx analytics, Tableau visualization, financial and investment modeling, business and strategy analytics; (ii) identifying and executing opportunities to drive operational effectiveness within and across business units with key cross-functional partners; (iii) performing data and finance analysis using Microsoft Excel, and developing and presenting insights using Microsoft PowerPoint; and (iv) working within matrix-based teams and project management. 30% domestic travel required. An EOE. 40 Hrs./wk. (8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M.); Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
