Amazon AWS Infrastructure Strategic Collaborations Divest team (ISC Divest) are seeking a Business Development Manager to support enterprise customers in their efforts to provide insight and support as they deal with challenges and considerations related to their legacy data centers as they plan their migration to the AWS cloud.

In this role, you will work closely with the AWS sales team, and directly with enterprise customers in evaluating their current data center infrastructure and helping them to cost-effectively migrate to AWS.

ISC Divest is a team of data center experts that uses industry insight and other AWS tools and resources to help customers work through data center considerations and challenges as they migrate to the AWS cloud. As a member of the ISC Divest team, you will qualify and develop assigned data center exit and advisory support opportunities, and working with various AWS sales and business development teams to develop high-value customer solutions that enable or accelerate cloud migration for key enterprise customers. You will also drive infrastructure and financial analysis, and colocation and data center owner/investor partnerships.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CXO/VP level, as well as a technical background that enables them to bring data center expertise relative to data center facility infra to our customers and AWS sales partners. They should also have a demonstrated ability to lead and participating in teams that develop complex customer solutions, and to work with a high degree of autonomy.

The role will be located in either Seattle, WA, Austin, TX, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Chicago, IL or Toronto, ON.

A day in the life

Our team spends our time either supporting or building tools to support our customer’s journey to AWS. Our focus is on optimizing the operational and financial considerations of their physical infrastructure dispositions associated with moving from an on-premise to cloud-based IT delivery model.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

+ BS degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

+ 7+ years of experience in partner management or business development and/or infrastructure program/product management.

+ 5+ years of experience with data center infrastructure and operations, site selection and procurement or similar.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations in a customer-facing and stakeholder-facing role.

+ Ability to understand and communicate high level Data Center infrastructure details and market trends

+ Be able to demonstrate a successful history of negotiation experience.

+ Ability to negotiate legal documents and interact with legal resources.

+ Extensive contacts in the data center Colocation and REIT markets.

+ Technical or business degree; MBA and/or Computer Science background.

+ Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

+ Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
