Job Description
Home Care Aides are required to possess a sympathetic attitude toward the care of elderly and provide quality companionship while completing tasks assigned under the plan of care. Responsibilities include:
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Perform routine housekeeping chores such as making/changing beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, and cleaning floors.
- Upkeep of home to include kitchen and bathroom, general home maintenance and repairs.
- Perform laundry services.
- Assist with shopping and escorting client to medical visits, and other errands as specified in the plan of care.
- Assist with the appropriate use of equipment or supplies (canes, wheelchairs, etc.).
- Assist with self-administered medication; remind client to take medication, read instructions and utilization.
- Assist with personal care such as bathing, shaving, toileting, dressing, dental/denture care and combing hair.
- Assist the client with range of motion and mobility to include sitting up, standing, transferring to bed, chair, bath and toilet.
- Alert Supervisor of any change of conditions or vital information that may impact services.
