Small Business Partner
What you’ll do… :
Joining Block Advisors as a Small Business Partner, you’ll advise and guide members of the tax team as they prepare components of the US Federal income tax returns and other documents. Provides advice on financial and tax matters and should have in depth knowledge of the regulations, laws and acts that govern the process. Serves as business advisor to our clients aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes. Using your people management experience and passion for helping people, you’ll provide leadership to accelerate our year-round tax and business services. Block Advisors is an H&R Block brand that redefined the tax preparation experience for individuals and small businesses with complex tax and business service needs.
You’ll serve as the face to the community delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving all office related growth objectives.
Day to day, you’ll…
+ Work independently to create and implement a small business client growth strategy for the office
+ Use discretion and independent judgement to advise/consult with clients after analyzing the tax and business information provided by clients to determine their situations and needs; review monthly financials, annual tax return and return reviews; provide tax planning and other financial advice.
+ Serve as an advisor to small business clients by recommending other services that would be beneficial to the client’s financial situation by using their expertise, judgement and experience
+ Directs preparation of required financial/tax documents.
+ Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in the accounting profession; applies knowledge to provide recommendations that can impact the business and tax situation of the client.
+ Indirectly manage and mentor members of teams to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.
+ Responsible for assigning and coordinating work with a remote team of tax professionals and bookkeepers
+ Retain existing clients while focusing on new client growth through various means including community involvement, small business events, etc. Introduce and educate clients about the fundamentals and benefits of products and services being offered year-round at Block Advisors
+ Plan for and develop an overall return and business services calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with teams.
+ Meet and exceed established team goals for service quality and productivity.

What you’ll bring to the team… :
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree required
+ CPA & or EA required
+ Minimum 8 Years of experience, with the demonstrated ability to deliver an exceptional client experience that makes clients want to retain our services year after year
+ Experience with Entity Returns
+ Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment, Income Tax Course or equivalent
+ Must complete 18-hours continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
+ Complete Small Business Certification (internal candidates prior to hire and External candidates after hire)
+ Demonstrated aptitude for growth plan execution and ability to lead towards growth culture
+ Strong analytical, decision-making, judgment skills and the ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a customer-centric mindset that seeks to understand and exceed client needs. Ability to communicate effectively through a variety of media – email, video, phone and in person.
+ Computer proficient with the ability to use MS Office
