Job Description
AbbVie Endocrinology Inc. in Lake County, IL seeks Business Systems Consultant.
Work directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes and business drivers and business strategy across multiple business units. Identify and communicate resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology such as improving product quality and reducing costs with the move to Cloud Applications, Cloud APIs, Webservices, and Microservices. Responsible for using Web Applications and middleware Integration API tools like SOAPUI/READYAPI and KARATE API to ensure the quality of the products delivered. Investigate and understand capabilities of existing systems and technologies already in use across the business area and similar and interconnected business areas in the organization and investigate available technologies applied to this business area in industry. Identify information required to support the business strategy and leads the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy through the use of middleware integrated Microservices/APIs, Data Feeds from various integrating systems, Cloud Database (Mongo DB), SQL Database and Business Rules Management System (BRMS). Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Identify current and emerging business needs and evaluate alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices such as Waterfall, Agile, Behavior Driven Development, Test Data Driven Development, Shift-Left with Automation, and DevSecOps with applicable project/incident management tools like RALLY/JIRA/HP ALM, and JENKINS for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. Seek out strategic business opportunities for the application of new or existing technology capabilities across multiple business areas with high-level business unit executives providing key opinion-leading clients with comprehensive strategic analyses and insights to help them discover strategic uses of technology products and services. Develop, lead, or review the creation of information systems strategy to support the strategic requirements of multiple business areas such as automating processes and using advanced tools and technologies such as BDD Frameworks, JavaScripting/VB-Scripting, Eclipse and GITLAB. Ensure compliance between business strategies and technology directions. Make recommendations to process stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve process improvement objectives, including business process outsourcing, application development or adopting business process management (BPM) practices. Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other BTOs to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Manage relationships between clients involved and BTOs to assure effective communication between the groups is occurring. Ally with other BTOs to remain current on project status and inform customer management of progress. Identify the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information. Responsible for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establish organizational objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made. Responsible for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need. 5% domestic travel required.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Management Information Systems, IT Management or a highly related field of study with at least five (5) years of related experience. In the alternative, will accept a Master’s degree in the aforementioned fields with at least two (2) years of related experience. Each educational alternative with at least two (2) years of related experience in the following: (i) identifying and communicating resulting needs and opportunities for business process improvement that can be enabled via technology such as improving product quality and reducing costs with the move to Cloud Applications, Cloud APIs, Webservices, and Microservices; (ii) using Web Applications and middleware Integration API tools like SOAPUI/READYAPI and KARATE API to ensure the quality of the products delivered; (iii) identifying information required to support the business strategy and leads the development of appropriate information management strategies, developing them as an integrated part of the business strategy through the use of middleware integrated Microservices/APIs, Data Feeds from various integrating systems, Cloud Database (Mongo DB), SQL Database and Business Rules Management System (BRMS); (iv) identifying current and emerging business needs and evaluate alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices such as Waterfall, Agile, Behavior Driven Development, Shift-Left with Automation, and DevSecOps with applicable project/incident management tools like RALLY/JIRA/HP ALM, and JENKINS for Continuous Integration and Continuous Development; and (v) developing, leading, or reviewing the creation of information systems strategy to support the strategic requirements of multiple business areas such as automating processes and using advanced tools and technologies such as BDD Frameworks, JavaScripting/VB-Scripting, Eclipse and GITLAB.
