ABOUT THE ROLE
All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. The Maintenance Laborer is responsible for performing maintenance functions on all equipment and facilities in the plant. Maintenance functions include repair, welding, preventative maintenance inspection, and installation of equipment. Good mechanical aptitude is required for the position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
+ Practice and promote safety insuch a wayas including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Insures Safety on the Job, following safety policies and procedures for plant and job specific maintenance and operating tasks.
+ Responsible for entire mechanical maintenance activities. Responsible for daily/weekly (PM) inspections on specified areas in the plant. Provide feedback and documents on work orders, information found on daily/weekly (PM) inspections. Carries out all mechanical equipment repairs, according to work order requests – insuring quality workmanship.
+ Ability to access all areas of plant to identify pre-failure status of mechanical parts, repair/replacement before major component failure insuring maximum plant availability. Provides detailed information on a daily basis to plant management for needed equipment repairs or improvements.
+ Knowledge of Plant operations – Safety lockout procedure, Equipment interlocks, Process and material flow, HAC numbering system, Function and operation of all plant processing related equipment. Understands PPE, hand tool usage, and safety policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrates leadership and self-motivation.Operates service truck, telehandler, forklift, man-lift, skid-steer, water truck, portable and fixed water pumps, shop overhead crane, cut-off saw, hydraulic press, and various hand tools.
+ Must be able to walk up several sets of stairs to tower and down to travel to different areas of wash plant to monitor or diagnose equipment issues.
+ Must be able to assist maintenance personnel in plant equipment repairs including screen media changes, conveyor belt repairs, greasing, shoveling, and other general maintenance tasks. General layout, welding, cutting, fabricating skills with ability to work from blueprints, sketches, or detailed instructions.
+ General rigging knowledge to assist with crane operating tasks. Repair equipment such as crushers, screens, screw conveyors, log-washers, belt conveyors, reducers, bearings, splicing, water pumps, and other material handling equipment. Have a basic understanding of hydraulics.
+ Operate independent of Supervisors.Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed. Stay over if needed.

Additional Requirements:
+ Experience in aggregate manufacturing processes, maintenance, and equipment operation.
+ Knowledge of the concrete recycling manufacturing process and equipment a plus.
+ Basic computer skills.
