Job Summary
The ABAP Development Engineer will support the development of SAP solutions and associated middleware. Will create the necessary technical designs which are required to enable successful project delivery. Creates technical designs that support the requirements of the business and the specific project in terms of landscape and performance or resilience aligning with the overall business requirements. This role is viewed as the technical expert to understand business requirements, evaluate and develop technical solutions that provide the best outcome for the business and will involve providing leadership and technical direction to team members and consultants
The role will also focus on
Service introduction of new development code or projects or programs being transitioned into run service
Change Management and Controls
Automation and ongoing service improvement.
Job Responsibilities
+ Creates, develops and maintains internal business requirements for complex issues by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions with users.
+ Assist translating users more complex business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation.
+ Develops, configures, integrates programs for complex SAP Components including, but not limited to SAP S4, SAP Fiori, SAP SLT, SAP BW, SAP PI or PO, SAP BODS etc.
+ Performs complex code reviews, writes technical specifications, project planning and developments in SAP ABAP, integration and BTP areas
+ Develops and implements SAP standards within designs and challenge where SAP standard is not proposed.
+ Develops complex test cases for unit, regression, performance and user acceptance testing for SAP components, but not limited to SAP S4, SAP Fiori, SAP SLT, SAP BW, SAP PI or PO, SAP BODS etc
+ Stays abreast of industry leading best practices and brings them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application. Develop strong partnerships and relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet business needs.
+ Expert in SAP Solution Manager, such as Charm and Monitoring technical and E2E
+ Sharpens the saw Displays expertise in knowledge bases and certifications such as but not limited to SAP Certified Development Specialist ABAP for SAP HANA 2 point 0, ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7 point 50, Learning Hub etc.
+ Experience delivering complex test projects across an IT landscape, Test management skills at an advanced level, Testing automation tools, ISTQB Test Certification at foundation level or above
+ Develops and owns project plans of moderate scope while ensuring timely delivery of deliverables to meet project or program milestones.
+ Performs integration of SAP SaaS solutions with the existing SAP solutions.
+ Anticipates and prevents risks and issues impacting business rules, functional requirements and specifications.
+ Actively contributes in managing the scope of applications and related changes.
+ Mentors and trains less experienced team members
+ Collaborates with stakeholders on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements.
+ Interacts with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization. Serves as a liaison between engineering, quality assurance and non technical stakeholders throughout the development and deployment process.
+ Anticipates, prevents and eliminates problems and roadblocks before they occur.
+ Performs as subject matter Expert to less experienced team members. May participate in teaching and training members of work team.

External Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of professional work experience in SAP Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field
+ At least 2 years of experience with technical design process and models. Experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field

+ At least 2 years experience in SAP application experience, integration suite and microservices, APIs.
+ Experience designing or building complex SAP applications or automation or deployment automation.
+ Expert in automation test or deployment scripts
+ Programming expertise in cloud based SAP S4, CAR, BW implementations and Coding or scripting solutions to address moderately complex problems
+ Experience in operational topics before they become issues and recommending and implementing strategies mitigating them. When issues do occur, triage issues to identify the correct problem fast and mitigate them from occuring again.
+ At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and or cross functional team leadership.
+ Willing to travel up to or at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state
