Job Title: Architectural Sales Manager

Reports to: Sales Director

Summary of Position:

The Sales Manager will provide world class customer service to our internal and external customers by managing all activities associated with the sales support for the Architectural sectors. This will include all activities related to predicting the expense of future projects or products based on comprehensive engineered solutions. The candidate will develop proposals which require design, manufacturing, and installation as well as order entry, proposal development and responsibility for the proposal/quotation log process. In addition to monetary costs, the sales manager will manage the duration, scope, and potential profitability of each new project or product. This position will be based out of Naperville, IL.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies customer problem/task to be resolved; reviews specifications that technologies are required to meet; develops budget constraints.
  • Develops product proposals, including text, pricing, preliminary design details for customer specific solutions delivered either as budgetary or firm proposals within agreed upon time scales.
  • Responsible for taking a project and breaking down all expenses including materials, labor, and other resources.
  • Prepares preliminary designs and evaluates detailed designs at various stages in the project evolution.
  • Develops pricing schedules and proposal evaluations to support the competitive bid process and negotiate project pricing with contractors for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Performs cost analysis to support estimates and prepare detailed variance analyses to support the project change process.
  • Participates with the project team in scoping of projects for engineering, construction and contractual requirements including the transferring of projects from order award to Design Engineering or project management.
  • Suggests improvements on the costing and proposal generation processes.
  • Overall resource and support for the Rep Channel.
  • Works in a fast-paced environment, providing customer service such as same day quotes, responses to technical questions and assess needs and suggests/promotes alternative products.
  • Develops proposals utilizing costs from the business ERP system.
  • Maintains standardized ongoing historical cost databases and application tools to aid future estimates and pricing schedules.
  • Consults with sales team to determine application requirements.
