Environmental Protection Specialist
Key Role:
Provide assistance to clients in environmental due diligence efforts involving Federal aviation facility real property transactions. Monitor practices and processes for environmental consideration. Ensure compliance with ASTM Standards, FAA policy, industry practices, and governmental regulations. Perform Phase 1 and Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), conduct environmental sampling, provide oversight for facility decommissioning surveys, and conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation. Conduct checklist reviews associated with Categorical Exclusions (CatEx). Complete other general management tasks, as required. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with supporting environmental due diligence efforts for facility real property transactions, including Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments
2+ years of experience with supporting environmental investigation projects, including soil, groundwater, and other media sampling
Experience with reviewing engineering plans and GIS data to understand potential environmental impacts
Knowledge of ASTM Standard E1527-21 and ASTM Standard D1903-19
Ability to work independently with minimal instructions and communicate directions to team members
Ability to manage complex data and analysis and present findings to a variety of technical and senior audiences
Ability to interpret and analyze policies and technical directives
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering

Additional Qualifications:
Experience in working with the Department of Transportation or the Federal Aviation Administration
Knowledge of federal or state environmental laws and regulations, including Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, or Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)
Knowledge of common aviation facility recognized environmental conditions
P.E. or P.G. License preferred

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
