The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

+ Functions as a mid-level Environmental Scientist in the Process Department

+ Provide environmental support through the development or performance of field studies, environmental assessments and completion of permit/license applications for domestic or international projects

Key Responsibilities

+ In addition to the duties of an Environmental Scientist 3: Develops schedules and budgets for current studies Assists in the preparation of task assignments for studies Coordinates with personnel to review scientific reports, studies, etc , and resolves areas of concern Reviews the results of literature surveys, conclusions and recommendations bases on compilations, evaluation and analyses of scientific data obtained from the literature May function as primary client contact coordinating the resolution of problems, reviewing progress, recommending alternatives, advising on project objectives, and monitoring progress and cost of all tasks

+ May maintain business relationships with client and develop new business with existing or new clients

+ May require participation in field work Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements

Preferred Qualifications

+ Provide startup, commissioning and troubleshooting services for conventional wastewater treatment, advanced wastewater treatment, and biosolids.

+ Prepares standard operating procedures, energy control procedures, job safety analysis, and operation and maintenance manuals for new and existing facilities

+ Perform onsite training of operations staff.

+ Evaluate staffing, operating costs, and system redundancy for reliable operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years’ of experience performing duties similar to those of an Environmental Scientist 3. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Work Environmental includes typical office environment, typical construction site environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise levels, safety hazards (electrical, scaffolding, chemicals, confined spaces) atmospheric conditions (fumes, dust,mist, gases, odors, poor ventilation). Physical demands include sitting walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, reaching, stooping, and filing about 75% of the time. Demands on driving, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods, and lifing or carrying objects up to 25 to 50 pounds may occur around 25% of the time. Travel is required and can range between 25% to 75% of the time.
