You’ll have a unique opportunity providing Operations & Engineering support work on multiple cutting-edge storage and backup technologies alongside many talented associates.
Storage and Backup Subject Matter Expert providing operations support and governance. With extensive Storage and backup technology knowledge he/ she will be responsible for IT Service Management, Advanced troubleshooting, partnering & guiding to implement best practices. The person will be required to independently Troubleshoot, lead, influence and oversee Change implementation, issue resolution ensuring Service Levels and Continuous Service Improvement targets are achieved or exceeded.
Responsibilities
+ Storage Administrator is responsible managing day-to-day operations activities.
+ Plans and Develops processes and procedures for proactive/ reactive performance tuning of storage systems, support implementation of storage software and hardware upgrades (PureStorage, EMC, NetApp, IBM etc.).
+ Day-to-day activities would involve managing storage arrays (PureStorage, EMC, IBM etc.), fabric (CISCO & Brocade), Backup technologies (Rubrik, Data Domain, NBU etc.) software & hardware triage, vendor coordination.
+ Provides technical support to Operations system administrators.
+ Ensures adherence to organization security standards by vendors in hardware and software implementations.
+ Consults in acquisition of appropriate software/hardware.
+ Provides third-tier support for the operations environment as required in both storage management and high availability solutions.
+ Works with other organization departments to facilitate the ongoing development, testing, and deployment of systems and upgrades to existing systems.
+ Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
+ Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
+ Partner with leaders on Continuous Service Improvement and shift left initiatives.
+ Follows established guidelines/procedures.
This role involves leading Process and Technology to maintain 80+PB storage and Backup systems from multiple vendors.
Responsibilities include:
+ Work with team to achieve common organizational goal
+ Mentor/ Coach junior members and partners with Service providers/ vendors
+ Performs operations work (Incident/ Change/ Problem etc.) following Humana ITIL process guidelines
+ Manages day-to-day operations activities (e.g. Change Implementation, Major Incident triage, task organization, SLA/SLO, Audit)
+ Ensures Service Level compliance
+ Configure/ maintain zoning, replication, encryption, allocation/ reclaims, compression etc.
+ Partner with vendors in selection of proper parts/ replacements to maximize Humana’s interest.
+ Provides technical oversight to higher priority incident resolution, RCA and report progress to stakeholders
+ Review operations issues/ risks, evaluate and present mitigation options
+ Works on Problem tasks, root cause analysis, known error remediation
+ Implements strategy to ensure operations success, especially Knowledge, Incident and Change Management processes
+ Develops strategy to stay current and supporting upcoming storage & backup technologies in Humana’s roadmap
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 5 or more years of Storage and Backup administration experience in an enterprise level environment
+ 2 or more years of work experience within ITIL framework
+ Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
+ PureStorage, Dell/EMC certifications
+ Automation experience
+ Experience with SNMP and other monitoring protocols/ tools
+ Experience with ServiceNow and Event Management
