SMX is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer with demonstrated experience to perform Software Engineering for the development and sustainment phases of a project relative to mission planning software supporting aircraft and weapons systems. This position will focus on the development and integration of “glass” cockpit displays into aircraft systems.
You will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business case analysis across the NAVAIR community.
As the Software Engineer, you will:
+ Explore integration opportunities between Android tablets and glass cockpit displays
+ Develop prototypes to display Android User Interfaces using representative embedded aircraft software
+ Work with pilots and human factors teams to explore alternatives to touchscreen inputs
Required Skills and Experience:
+ Clearance Required: Secret
+ BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering from a college program with ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) certification.
+ At least five (5) years of software engineering experience, performing software requirements analysis, software design, software coding, software integration and software testing.
+ Must have working knowledge of C, C++, C#, Java, the Atlassian Tool Set, etc.
+ Must be able to perform functional duties independently or with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications:
+ 3+ years of experience shall have consisted of performing software engineering functions for a DoD aircraft systems, DoD weapons systems, DoD mission systems or DoD support systems.
+ Familiarity with AWS or other cloud computing platforms
