Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Product Marketing Specialist to join our team at AKBA! This individual will be responsible for developing and deploying product marketing initiatives for all equipment across virus filtration, chromatography, inline buffer formulation and oligosynthesis - with special emphasis on managing successful new product launches. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the overall growth. The role will execute product marketing plans, including new product development and promotions, as well as current portfolio initiatives such as product positioning, collateral development, etc. A strong focus on content and digital marketing activities is essential. He/she will also help develop qualitative & quantitative customer insights.

The ideal person for this role has experience in bioprocessing as well as a solid understanding of marketing strategy and tactics.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • As a member of the marketing team, serve as a product portfolio expert - with a deep understanding of our product categories and ability to develop/communicate clear product positioning.
  • Manage the introduction of new product innovations, including the development of supportive materials and go-to-market strategy.
  • Generate market insights through VOC feedback, secondary research, and participation in industry activities.
  • Understand and communicate customers' values and needs.
  • Guide product development with information derived from customer input, industry trends, portfolio performance and the competitive landscape.
  • Support the execution of marketing tactics in accordance with overall strategy, working with stakeholders in engineering, operations, sales, and R&D.
  • Assist with product application studies, projects, and collaborate closely with R&D and product management teams to execute content.
  • Develop marketing collateral and supportive content for new product introductions and update/maintain existing portfolio through internal collaborations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support the creation of training materials and other tools as required.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing or related role.
  • Leadership skills to lead and/or influence teams and shape growth.
  • Experience in bioprocessing (virus filtration, chromatography, and/or oligosynthesis).
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment and to motivate others.
  • Strong analytical and process skills.
  • Proficiency with presentation software (PowerPoint), and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deep marketing expertise in market & customer insights, product commercialization and branding preferred.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Able to travel as the company requires (estimated < 10% of the time).
  • This is a hybrid role, with a balance of remote and on-site activities.
