Job Description:

The Manager, Enterprise Risk Management & Business Continuity, is responsible for management of McDonald’s Business Continuity governance framework and processes, including developing tools and providing training to enable effective business continuity planning. Coaches functional and market leadership in assessment of risk and development of business continuity plans. Gathers feedback on business continuity capabilities and prepares periodic reports for leadership. Position reports to Director, Compliance & Enterprise Risk.

Manage Business Continuity Governance Framework and Processes

+ Manage governance infrastructure, including implementing enhancements to a sustainable Business Continuity process and a common language

+ Provide a consistent and efficient approach to use technology, develop tools and deliver training to enable effective business continuity planning

+ Leverage existing functional processes and personnel to monitor and report on existing capabilities and potential opportunities

+ Integrate Business Continuity planning with functions and markets as appropriate

+ Provide business continuity planning guidance to the business

Coaching and Risk Assessment

+ Coach functions, markets and leadership on the business continuity framework and assessment of risk within the framework

+ Support functions and markets as they develop business continuity plans aligned to the framework

+ Benchmark with external organizations and peers to identify trends and best practices and incorporate relevant learnings into McDonald’s process

+ Serve in an advisory role for segment and market leadership, assist in surfacing market level best practices and opportunities that may result in enterprise-wide impact

Monitoring and Reporting

+ Design and implement enhancements to the business continuity framework and processes

+ Engage functions and markets as appropriate to monitor current capabilities, evolving needs and action plans for identified opportunities

+ Work with functions, segments and markets to coordinate periodic “deep dive” assessments of business continuity planning, and report on outcomes and effectiveness

Internal and External Engagement

+ Build strong internal relationships, including with global functions, segments and markets, to ensure access and insight into current continuity planning capabilities to provide an enterprise-wide perspective

+ Engage external resources to benchmark outside perspectives with respect to innovations in business continuity planning

+ Perform other projects and provide additional support as assigned

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of Business Continuity program experience in multi-national company or related consulting experience preferred.

+ Experience interacting with management levels within an organization.

+ Strong project management and reporting skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.

Educational Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field a plus.
