Production Manager

Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Production Manager for a direct hire position with Coal City based client that packages liquids and chemical solutions. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

S alary/Pay Rate/Compensation:

$100,000.00 plus 10% bonus

Overview

Our client has blending/batch mixing, liquid fill, light assembly, and packaging operations. They provide these services to customers in a variety of industries such as household chemicals, personal care, automotive, food, and industrial. Our client has 3 current production lines with the capacity to increase to 8.

You will lead 2-3 production lines (one on each shift) involved in the valve assembly, liquid fill and packaging of aerosol cans. You will have 3 direct reports (Supervisors/Team Lead) and up to 100 indirect (operators). You will manage daily operations to ensure safety, cost effectiveness & efficiency. You will facilitate communication between each shift and proactively plan or address productions gaps to avoid downtime.

Current Shifts:

1 st : Monday – Friday 6-2PM

2 nd : Monday-Friday 2PM -10PM

Temporary Shift 3 rd :Monday-Thursday 10PM -6AM

Responsibilities:

+ Manage daily operations and provide direction, to ensure that production targets are established for all areas, and actionable countermeasures are developed for gap drivers.

+ Make or assist others in making decisions regarding production to help meet safety, quality and volume and productivity goals.

+ Hire, coach and develop production supervisors across multiple shifts and work locations.

+ Ensure production associates are properly trained for their roles, and sufficient cross-training is in place for business continuity

+ Collaborate with appropriate departments and support teams to solve problems and respond to concerns/issues

+ Help resolve customer complaints, production difficulties and planning issues, using structured root cause analysis tools

+ Train staff on all new or modified production processes/operations for new launches, strategic projects, or production expansions.

Qualifications:

3-5+ years in a Production Management role within an industrial setting, required

+ Liquid fill, light assembly or packaging operations a plus

+ 90% of time will be spent on the production floor, motivating staff and pro-actively addressing potential issues.

+ Bachelor degree in operations, manufacturing or related is a plus

+ Lean manufacturing a plus

+ Contract manufacturing experience a plus

+ Record of meeting KPI target through a positive yet accountable leadership style

+ Proficient with MS Office required, and any ERP experience required (SAP a plus)
