The Opportunity

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Function in a Lead Role.
+ Primary focus of technical execution of project deliverables, on time and on budget.
+ Perform technologyevaluation studies, conceptual and preliminary design, and detailed design for projects in the food and beverage industries.
+ Build and maintain relationships with clients.
+ Participate in writing proposals.

Our Team of over 200 process engineers support water, industrial, next generation agriculture, LNG, hydrogen, fertilizer, and carbon capture businesses among others. Key Responsibilities
The NextGen Ag team currently has a physical presence in Kansas City but is supported by and draws on B&V professionals throughout the US and internationally. Hybrid options available!
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables
+ Ability to review and understand contract or cooperative manufacturing contracts
+ Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and material selection. Prepares equipment and construction specifications.
+ Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
+ Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Responsible for budget, schedule, and quality requirements
+ Reviews other engineering work for technical accuracy
+ Responsible for coordinating resources on a project
+ Drives internal and external stakeholder collaboration.
+ Passionate about client and company success
+ Engineering Standards – Continues to learn, remains current and applies independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes. Engaged in continual improvement of these standards.
+ Quality – Unwavering focus on quality of deliverables. Ensures compliance with quality program. Team Development – Provides guidance and direction to others, both from a technical and leadership development standpoint

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
+ 5 – 10 years experience as a process engineer or related field
+ Food, beverage, and/or pharmaceutical/FDA regulated process industry and facility experience
+ Experience with cell expansion, proliferation, and differentiation
+ Experience with complex/defined media recycling
+ Sanitary/hygienic design experience
+ Experience in process scale-up design from lab/pilot to commercial production volumes highly desired.
+ Experience in aseptic processing or handling is desired
+ Experience with FDA and/or USDA requirements
+ Experience with isolation and containment for genetically modified or pathogenic organisms
+ Hands-on experience in a facility

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 5 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Certifications
Professional Engineer (PE) or active pursuit of registration is desired.
