The Department of Health Informatics and Data Sciences and the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research ( CHOIR ) at Loyola University Chicago seek outstanding applicants to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level. This position is a 12-month appointment.

The Department of Health Informatics and Data Sciences is one of four departments hosted in the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health. It is a highly multidisciplinary department with a strong focus on using approaches from public health informatics and data science to improve the totality of human health and reduce health disparities.
Launched in 2017, the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research ( CHOIR ) anchors a collaborative mission of people-centered education and people-centered care shared by Loyola University Chicago and Loyola University Health System through education, research and service to others. In the Jesuit tradition, the phrase cura personalis speaks to a distinctive person-centered approach to education. In the context of Trinity Health, a people-centered health system speaks to that same commitment through clinical research and clinical care at the service of the community and population health.?
As a catalyst for social change, CHOIR seeks to achieve truly people-centered care by leveraging unprecedented institutional commitment to effectively use data for the benefit of all patients. Qualifications
We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in public health informatics, systems design, public health decision-making, global health, network science, mobile health and applications to areas that are relevant to the Department and to CHOIR . Candidates with experience in public health practice at the local, federal, or international level, working or co-designing with communities, and/or collaborating with non-governmental organizations are strongly encouraged to apply. As the department is developing its graduate programs, we welcome applicants who excel in developing coursework across the spectrum of biomedical informatics and precision public health.
The ideal candidate at the assistant professor level will demonstrate potential for developing a strong independent research program and securing extramural funding. At the associate professor level, the ideal candidate will have an established research program with consistent federal funding.
The selected candidate will join and work with a robust and highly innovative team that will define the cutting edge of biomedical informatics research. They will build strong collaborations with public health and healthcare professionals at the institution, in the region, and nationally. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in biomedical informatics, computer science, biostatistics, or epidemiology, or related field.
