Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires current Illinois residency to apply.
The Facilities Management department at SIUE is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Steam and Power Plant Operator III vacancy. The Steam and Power Plant Operator III is responsible for the operation and maintenance of building heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment on the University’s campus. The selected candidate will be expected to operate and maintain campus utilities such as gas, water, and power along with operate building systems such as life safety, elevators, swimming pools, plumbing, and electrical. Routine duties for the Steam and Power Plant Operator III include but are not limited to:
-Responding to hot/cold calls;
-Responding to and investigating building alarms;
-Monitor energy management system and taking various readings as needed.
The hours for this position are rotating shifts, Monday through Sunday, 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours will be required. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals.
