Job Description
The Health business within Health & Biosciences develops functional natural health and nutrition ingredients, including our premium HOWARU probiotic products, used in dietary supplements, functional food, infant and elderly nutrition, cosmetics, personal care and other over-the-counter products. Our customers benefit from a wealth of regulatory, application and formulation expertise, along with proprietary technology, in-depth market knowledge and global capabilities. We continually develop new formulas to meet changing consumer preferences and customer needs.
The Senior Formulation Scientist is a critical role in the Health Applications team supporting customer solutions and internal innovation projects. This role manages the technical relationship with specific Dietary Supplement and Pharmaceutical customers in support of growing the business and developing a pipeline of opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To succeed in this position, the candidate should be able to perform the following tasks, including but not limited to:
Identifies, assesses and develops new application concepts and/or technologies to grow business topline and create a pipeline of opportunities.
Develops and modifies formulations for different finished formats such as capsules, stick packs, sachets, bulk powders, oil drops, and tablets.
Customer-oriented and have agility to understand customer needs and generate customer solutions.
Interface directly with customers to retrieve voice of the customer (VOC), define product requirements, and communicate solutions.
Identifies new, innovative ingredients in the market. Assesses raw materials for appropriate usage within formula and support sourcing in procurement process.
Provides internal and external technical supports to customers, contract manufacturers, Sales, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations by demonstrating technical knowledge of the product and/or technical solutions.
Creates prototypes in lab and generate matrix to evaluate prototypes.
Identifies technical problems or product failures, develops hypotheses and designs of experiment to test the hypotheses.
Provides technical input to commercialization of various innovation and customer launches.
Manages projects, tracks the milestones, coordinates with other professionals and supports team members to accomplish objectives.
Becomes a technical expert, resource, and mentor -format development, formulation, ingredients selection and evaluation, trouble shooting.
