What You’ll Do
+ Partner with technology, digital experience, service, and marketing teams to support the application used for dispute case initiation and resolution, which impact more than 2MM unique Cardmembers annually.
+ The technical product owner serves as the technical expert, advisor and lead, acting as the bridge between the Business, including the product owner, and Business Technology, specifically the agile team of developers/engineers, tech leads, system architects and agile program managers.
How You’ll Do It
+ Builds product backlog and prioritizes its items to achieve product objectives and long-term vision. Holds meetings with the product team to continuously update product backlog. Ensures product features and processes align with applicable Discover compliance and risk management standards. Ensures product adheres to the highest quality standards, including releasing security patches not linked to customers.
+ Creates and validates user story acceptance criteria. Leads user story mapping sessions and user story writing.
+ Defines and ensures appropriate testing frameworks for product features (e.g., market testing, functional performance, etc.); Works with Data stewards in their respective LOBs to ensure required Data quality controls are identified and implemented. Inspect and evaluate product progress through each iteration.
+ Partners closely with tech leads and system architects to analyze existing code and identify vulnerabilities and brainstorm enhancements; creates technical features that are required to continuously optimize system components and underline infrastructure maintenance.
+ Supports the development of objectives and key results (OKRs) for the product team and helps ensure prioritized work aligns with OKRs and Roadmap.
+ Creates and/or maintains key product documentation (e.g., customer journey map, technical specs, process mapping, etc.). Identifies and defines key functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., security, availability, performance, etc.) to achieve necessary product metrics.
+ Builds a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the agile team to make decisions as close to the work as possible. Manage dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnership across different product teams.
Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering; in lieu of a degree or in these fields, 8+ years’ experience with Product, Business, Technical, or related
+ 6+ years’ experience with Product, Business, Technical, or related
Bonus Points If You Have
+ Proficiency in agile methodology, including backlog grooming, interactive engagement with tech leads, system architects, engineers/developers and other product owners
+ Scrum/agile certifications and/or training
+ Product or process ownership
+ Marketing and customer communications
+ Issue management and resolution
+ Business Analysis or Technical background, particularly in mainframe and legacy WebSphere/Java environments
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $108,000.00 to $151,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
