Job Description

As a Account Executive you will be joining the world’s largest & most comprehensive clinical research organisation, powered by healthcare intelligence.

The Account Executive is a key role within the GPHS commercial team that develops and manages key client relationships, provides guidance and support to ensure highest quality proposals, and develops strategies to improve sales.

What you will be doing:

+ Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to an award.

+ Interface with Government, Commercial and Global Health Sector customers and drive productive client relationships.

+ Develop and maintain existing and new customer relationships to market ICON GPHS services.

+ Successfully close new business awards achieving annual new business sales target.

+ Develop and maintain leads to identify, qualify, prospect, track and develop new business opportunities.

+ Develop knowledge of competitor activities by researching, reviewing, and analyzing information about competitors’ services to improve company competitive position.

+ Successfully work with internal ICON team to design business capture strategy for competitive proposal development leveraging knowledge of the market and company services to maximize the probability of a win.

+ Arrange and participate in internal and external meetings to promote business opportunities.

+ Provide input in support of technical and management proposal volumes in response to customer.

+ Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).

+ Organize and develop documents/presentations to prepare teams for client facing bid defense meetings.

+ Maintain data in ICON GPHS customer relationship management system to ensure accurate and timely information on opportunities and proposals.

+ Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by Vice President of Business Development to track and report activity and progress.

You are:

+ Experience/knowledge of Phases I-IV clinical development and contract research organization services, and other scientific or technical services required.

+ 2 years business development experience.

+ Broad experience within the Federal Government preferred, specifically medical research and life sciences agencies.

+ The ideal candidate will possess a hunter mentality and have a proven track record of successful new business capture, proposal development, and ability to quickly conduct assessments and develop effective strategies which correspond to relevant Federal Government and global public health sectors.

+ Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead dialogue with diverse subject matter experts

+ Competency with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management solutions.

+ Computer competency including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

+ Demonstrated initiative and creative problem solving.

+ Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required.

+ Willingness to learn the appropriate regulations relating to position.
