Job Description
Group O has an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving Associate. The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing all inbound and outbound inventory responsibilities.
Primary Tasks:
+ Performing the following tasks related to the completion of inbound responsibilities:
+ Unloading shipments from carriers
+ Inspecting materials received
+ Reporting on discrepancies and quarantining materials as necessary
+ Counting and recording inventory received
+ Receiving inventory into warehouse management system
+ Putting away received inventory
+ Completing documentation and reports for inbound shipments
+ Performing the following tasks related to completion of outbound responsibilities:
+ Picking inventory
+ Packaging and labeling materials for shipment
+ Inspecting materials to be shipped
+ Reporting on discrepancies and quarantining materials as necessary
+ Validating picked material
+ Completing cycle counts
+ Monitoring shipping queue
+ Contacting carriers to plan for outbound shipments
+ Creating and submitting advanced shipping notices (ASNs)
+ Generating shipping labels
+ Monitoring compliance with client shipping requirements
+ Posting outbound shipping transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
+ Reporting discrepancies between planned and actual outbound shipping transactions
Secondary Tasks:
+ Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area
+ Finding and supporting opportunities for improved performance, cost-savings and efficiency
Education:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
Training:
+ Material handling equipment (Fork Lift)
Skills:
+ Flexibility in daily hours worked based on workloads
+ Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
+ Ability to stand for an extended period of time
+ Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
+ Basic user abilities with Microsoft Excel
+ Material handling/fork lift experience (6 months minimum)
Experience:
+ 6+ months in a receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping warehouse environment
Desired Skills:
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong user abilities with Microsoft Excel
+ Basic user abilities with the Microsoft Office Suite Package
+ Material handling/fork lift experience (1 year preferred)
+ Ability to learn and work with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) software
+ Ability to follow work instructions and procedures
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Ability to work in a team environment
+ Excellent math skills
+ Problem solving ability
