About the Department

The Naperville Pediatric Specialty Clinic is an office serving children aged 0-18. In addition, there are some adult patients who utilize both Sports Medicine clinics as well as a head/neck surgery clinic. There are approximately a dozen specialists seeing patients for a wide range of services.

Job Summary

Provide day to day support in a specialty pediatric office. Assist providers in procedures, triage/rooming of sick children, basic point of care testing and patient education. In addition, this location has Medical Assistants working at the front desk performing check in, scheduling, and registration as needed.

This position will require that the individual be available to float to other offsite locations in Flossmoor, Tinley Park and Merrillville as needed. The majority of the role will be carried out at the Naperville location.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and document vitals and chief complaint.
  • Obtain current Medications.
  • POC testing in the clinic.
  • Assist with basic procedures in the clinic.
  • Stock and clean exam rooms.
  • Obtain medical records/results as needed.
  • Front desk tasks including registration, scheduling and check in processes.
  • EKG testing.
  • Supply inventory ordering/management.
  • Completion of forms as needed.
  • Assists in performing a range of patient care processes and procedures, such as preparing patients' charts, measuring and recording patient vital signs, and assisting patients on/off stretchers, wheelchairs, and/or exam tables.
  • Works within defined processes and appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychological, and developmental needs of the patient.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Registered Nurse Degree, BSN.

Experience:

  • Two years of medical assistance experience.
  • Two years in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Two years of pediatric experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certification.
