Job Description
Position Highlights:
Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Acute Medicine with Telemetry, Overflow
Location: Evanston Hospital, 4 Louis
Full-time/Part-time: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Scheduled Hours: Nights, 7:00PM - 7:00AM
Required Travel: N/A
What you will need:
License: Current LPN licensure in the state of Illinois
Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required
Certification: Current BLS/CPR for the Healthcare Professional required
Experience: No experience required, previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing, or physician practice setting preferred.
What you will do:
*Provide patient care under the delegation of a registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with the State of Illinois Nurse Practice Act; documents care according to organization policy
*Administer oral, topical, and injectable medications, as well as IV antibiotics following the initial dose as ordered.
*Provide ongoing patient assessments and documents those assessments. Reports changes in patient condition to the RN
*Reinforces education and instructions to patients and families
*Maintain patient confidentiality in verbal, written, and electronic communication and adheres to HIPAA standards.
*Participate in and support unit-based council activities.
