Job Description
An engineering and design group is looking to bring on a Lead Accountant that will join their team in Hoffman Estates, IL. Within this role, you will provide oversight to the accounting operations and lead a team of 4 employees.

Responsibilities of the Lead Accountant include…
+ Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
+ Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
+ Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
+ Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
+ Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
+ Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
+ Works with external accountants and provides needed information for the annual financial consolidation.
+ Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
+ Handles tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger analysis, preparation of internal financial reports and auditing.
+ Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
What are we looking for…
+ Ideally looking for 5+ years with experience in Construction or Engineering companies.
+ Bachelors Degree preferred.
