Job Purpose:

To perform staff functions, provide change management process leadership, employee technical assistance, employee education and training and detail direction to Local Change Coordinators responsible for planning and implementing product changes in the manufacturing process. This is a full-time position in a Mach 1 environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

+ Collaborates with the Global Change Coordinator to extend material into SAP.

+ Extends all plant specific material to facility, Controls SAP Change Master Number effectivity dates for Product Design changes.

+ Creates, maintains, and communicates accurate change management data at both the local and corporate level through data entry in management information systems including the Engineering Data System (EDS) and SAP.

+ Collaborates with Material Master Owner, Variant Configuration team, BOM Managers, Local Process Planners, Logistics Planning Engineers, Supply Chain Material Planners, NPI team members to provide timely release and implementation of new and changed Change Masters.

+ Required to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional groups in order to execute the Material Master Process by understanding the integrated nature of SAP.

+ Participates in CPPD (Concurrent Process & Product Design) meetings.

+ Reviews and ensures the proper release of engineering information, exhausting of existing inventories and coordination with NPI Programs. Follows progress of major engineering releases and changes to resolve difficulties and provides guidance. The incumbent also serves as an integral member of NPI teams to influence the timeliness of model effectivity and the impact on other programs.

+ The incumbent participates with Commodity, Purchasing, and Product groups to determine the logical source of supply for product components and provides leadership with product groups and operations to expedite changes that impact product safety, liability, and customer satisfaction.

+ Coordinates the efforts of the team of salaried employees responsible for processing engineering changes, establishing manufacturing effective dates and the timely scheduling of material to the factory.

+ Oversees and coordinates priorities within each team and the efforts of the team. The team is responsible for the proper establishment of manufacturing effective dates, checking the timely receipt of records prepared by product design and preparing distribution and maintenance of this engineering data.

+ The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.

+ Serves as first level escalation for change master creation and changes issues and provides guidance to resolve problems.

+ This position coaches leads from other Mach 1 process areas responsible for creating change masters (Local Process Planners, BOM Managers, Quality and VC team) when needed. This includes system support as well as utilizing the communication template and SAP Workplace.

+ Participate in projects as a team member or subject matter expert focused on those areas affecting the change master. This work includes but is not limited to continuous improvement projects.

+ Secondary role as SAP Power User.

+ Participate in the engineering change governance process.

+ Typical internal customers are internal to the plant as well as shared services. The position is challenged to identify problems quickly and correctly. The incumbent generally resolves issues by following departmental guidelines or applying a solution that worked in the past. The team lead, or supervisor gives general instructions on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it is typically done. The jobholder knows in advance the details of what needs to be done to serve customers and the standard procedures in place to accomplish it. They can change different parts of the standard approach to serve customers best but cannot add or delete procedures without approval.

Basic Requirements:

+ Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible supply chain job experience.

+ Strong understanding of integrated supply chain processes.

+ Requires good oral and written communications skills.

+ Must have the ability to organize and direct the activities of other Local Change Coordinators.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to creatively solve complex problems.

+ Strong collaborative, interpersonal and negotiation skills in order to drive the Material Releasing process across multiple departments within a business division.

Top Candidates May Have:

+ College or university degree is highly desired.

+ APICS CPIM or CSPC national Certification highly desired.

+ Experience and knowledge of CPS supply chain principles.

+ Product knowledge specific to the plant.

+ Engaged with the Mach 1 COE to understand Mach 1 release impact to Change Master Processes.

+ Knowledge of Engineering Records, Manufacturing Releasing, Materials Scheduling, and Product Change Control procedures.

+ This position will close on 06/04/2023 at 11:59PM.

+ Travel requirements may be minimal.

+ The preferred location of this position is Mossville, IL, Lafayette, IN OR Griffin, GA but alternative work locations near a Caterpillar facility may be considered.

+ This position is a hybrid role (3 days on-site/2 days off-site), providing flexibility and freedom to work from a location away from the office, while also enabling the opportunity to collaborate in person as needed.
