Job Description

Gannett Fleming’s Transit and Rail Business is looking for a Deputy Quality Manager to support the development and implementation of quality management strategies across multiple projects with a large public sector client in the Greater Chicago, IL area. This role will be responsible to ensure proper quality control processes are in place and that quality control is effective throughout the life cycle of multiple projects varying in scope and complexity.

The Deputy Quality Manager will assist in monitoring performance of quality reviews and identify areas where process and protocols can be improved and will perform formal quality assurance audits to verify compliance with project QC requirements. The Deputy Quality Manager will work directly with project managers, sub-consultants and the client within to align quality control reviews with the work and monitor the progress and outcome of reviews. This individual will also be responsible for implementing, maintaining and controlling the documents and records that comprise the quality procedures .

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, Construction or Quality Management.

+ 5-8 years of experience in civil engineering/transportation design or planning

+ Prior experience in QC Reviews, QA Audits, or managing projects that included responsibility for quality control is preferred

+ Demonstrate understanding of the QMS quality objectives and how to measure their performance and regularly reviewed

+ ASQ or ISO 9001Certification strongly preferred

+ Candidates with prior Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) experience will be given preference

Salary: $105,600 – 125,000

Core Business Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
