Our client, a world leader in the Aerospace and Automotive industries is seeking a contracted employee (with opportunity to come on full time) to work in their hydraulic and mechanical forward facility, building proof of concept machines and sub assemblies. You will be building and testing pumps, motors, and other hydraulic components. This candidate will need to be exceptionally mechanically inclined. responsibilities:
Scope/Supervision and Interaction
Communicate and work with Engineering while reporting to Lab Manager.
Essential Functions:
+ Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives,test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions.
+ Understand and be able to troubleshoot a working hydraulic circuit.
+ Set up test units and instrumentation and responsibily monitor test performance.
+ Build and test pumps, motors, valves and other hydraulic components.
+ Build POC (Proof of Concept) Machines / Sub-assemblies.
+ Read and interpret engineering drawings.
+ Accurately use all lab measuring equipment.
+ Analyze test results and write reports with recommendations on appropriate action
+ Provide engineering advice and assistance to other departments as needed
+ Provide excellent service for and maintain communications with internal/external customers at all times.
+ Promote the culture of Lean and strive for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Mechanical Apptitude
Good oral and written communication skills.
Work well without direct supervision
Previous lab technician experience is preferred
Physical position that requires lifting and moving of heavy components and equipment. (30-50 lbs)
