Provides translation services organization wide to aid patients and families with Limited English proficiency navigate their care through our medical center. When needed, provides complex medical interpreting services to aid patients and families with Limited English proficiency in their communication with Lurie Children's staff regarding health care needs and interventions. Provides excellent customer service to staff, peers and families modeling organizational values.

Job Description1. Translates, edits and proofreads documents of varying complexity into Spanish, prioritizing patient care related documents to aid patients and families with limited English, such as after visit summaries, letters and patient education information.
2. Translates, edits and proofreads documents of varying complexity into Spanish as requested organization wide, mainly documents related to research, marketing and internal communication, amongst others.
3. Responds to translations requests in a timely manner and provides customer service to staff and team members with pending inquiries.
4. Maintains accurate statistics of requested and completed work on documentation platform.
5. Aids on the completing and processing of monthly charges related to research.
6. Provides complex medical and general interpreting services to aid patients and families with Limited English proficiency in their communication with Lurie Children's staff regarding health care needs and interventions.
7. Serves as liaison between patient/families and hospital staff to convey patient customer service needs and cultural specific issues/concerns.
8. Covers department manager tasks as needed
9. Provides technical and systems level support to newer interpreters. 
10. May serve and represent division group in hospital wide committees
11. Other job functions as assigned.
