Job Description

Overview

Provides training and leadership to junior personnel. Cleans equipment and supplies. Conducts sleep studies and scoring by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities

Measures patient's head and other body parts and marks points where electrodes are to be placed.
Attaches electrodes to predetermined locations, and verifies functioning of electrodes and recording instrument.
Operates recording instruments (Digital Sleep System, Video Recording) and supplemental equipment and chooses settings for optimal viewing.
Records montage (electrode combination) and instrument settings, and observes and notes patient's behavior during test.
Conducts PSG, Titrations, and MSLT testing.
Writes detailed technical reports summarizing testing and results to assist Physician.
Keeps detailed log of patient's actions during testing.
Performs computerized scoring.
Education and Experience

Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT or Registered EEG Technician R.EEGT
Certification/Licensure

Must work towards BRPT Registry.
Maintains current CPR Certification.
Special Physicial Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to handle, finger, feel, climb, and balance. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus, with occasional distance vision.
