Sign-on Bonus Eligible! $5,000
Pay range for this position is $20.88 - $30.01/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This position also comes with a shift differential of $4.00/hr and a weekend differential of $3.25/hr.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Student Nurse I Licensed Practical Nurse provides opportunity for nursing students to advance their knowledge and skills in providing patient care while giving consideration to the progression of their education and scholastic performance. The Student Nurse is partnered with a Registered Nurse who develops and supervises the Student Nurse's experience while retaining full accountability and responsibility for the care of assigned patients. Performs basic nursing procedures appropriate for the age and/or development of the patients served. In addition to performing normal duties of a Licensed Practice Nurse, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Student Nurse must demonstrate competency in technical nursing skills generally learned/acquired during their first year of a nursing program. Job duties will expand as skills are learned and competencies are documented by the partnered Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School/GED
Specific Majors: Must be enrolled in an accredited registered nurse program.
Licenses/Certifications: LPN
Other Licenses/Certifications: BLS (CPR) from American Heart Association
Experience: Has completed a medical surgical course. (Fundamentals of Nursing). Must have completed a clinical rotation of a least 40 hours.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
License/Certifications: ACLS from American Heart Association Emergency Department or EMT/Paramedical Experience
