Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware ESX Server, Active Directory, Internet Information Services (IIS), EMC, Cisco UCS, O365, Azure, and other server and system components. Additionally, the System Engineer supports a server infrastructure comprised of physical and virtual server designs.

The scope of the System Engineer role includes the following procedures and tasks:
* Build, configure, and support SYNAPSE Automated Gate System and corporate
infrastructure, including Network Area Storage (NAS), SQL, Domain Controller, EMC and
other servers.
* Build, configure, and support internal and external server platforms, including Windows
Server (2008 R2 - 2019), Linux, SQL, Exchange, and O365 and Azure
* Develop and maintain systems, applications, security, and system configurations based
on company requirements.
* Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware used throughout
the company.
* Ensure the security and integrity of the organization through development and practice
procedures of disaster recovery methods.
* Proactively monitor health of servers using common network monitoring tools.
* Maintain server and system content documentation.
* Enforce security and group policies.
Requirements
The System Engineer position requires the following:
* Bachelor's Degree, or five years' experience in similar role.
* Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a related area.
* Solid technical understanding of network and system protocols including:
o Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) / Internet Protocol (IP)
o Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
o Domain Name Service (DNS)
o Active Directory
* Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining various hardware including HP
ProLiant servers, APC power equipment (UPS and PDU), EMC Unity and VNX storage.
* Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining various software and platforms
including VMware ESX Server, Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server), DHCP, DNS,
IIS, Active Directory, SQL Server, Exchange Server, O365 and SharePoint, various cloud
support.
* Proven ability to integrate new server designs with existing systems.
* Solid experience with network and systems protocol.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to support a team
environment.
* Experience preferred, not required, with the following:
o Cisco and Juniper networking products (switches, routers, firewalls)
o Linux operating system
o Ivanti LANDesk
o Sophos security products
o Symantec and Network backup products
* Driver's License with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Physical Requirements
The System Engineer lifts up to seventy-five (75) pounds when occasionally lifting or
carrying large items, such as server hardware and other equipment.

Hours
The System Engineer role is a full-time position with standard work hours, working eight hour shifts for five days per week. This role may also include occasional overnight and weekend availability, and can require minimal travel.
Please Note: This position does qualify for a hybrid work schedule (2 - 3 days in office).

Work Environment
The System Engineer typically works in an office environment. The position requires long
periods of sitting and viewing computer screens. Occasional bending, reaching, standing,
walking, and carrying can occur.

Additionally, the role can require the individual to go on-site periodically. The System
Engineer must possess company-issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and applicable
licenses, as well as follow on-site safety guidelinesQualifications
