Job Description
Description:
+ Prepare and/or review calculations producing engineering designs for piping systems
+ Code qualification calculations with ASME B31.1 and/or ASME Section III codes required. ASME III Class 2/3 and or Class 1 stress code qualification calculations.
+ Proficiency using ME101, AutoPIPE strongly desired, other piping analysis industry software. Other FEA software such as ANSYS is a plus.
+ Calculations and drawings for pipe hanger, snubber, spring cans and linear supports is a plus
+ Specifications for piping, valves, components
+ Perform nozzle stress qualifications. Component or vessel design experience is a plus.
+ Complete documentation with strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Field Engineering and Construction assignments. Capable to perform site walkdowns.
+ Nuclear design change process (Standard Design Process)
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil-Structural and/or Mechanical Engineering
+ PE preferred (licensed in any state)
+ 5+ years of progressive engineering experience with commercial, industrial or government clients. Prior experience working on/with nuclear facilities preferred.
+ Must be familiar with applicable codes and standards: ASME Section III B&PV, B31 series (B31.1 preferred), piping specifications
+ Proficient with engineering/design software such as AutoPipe, ME-101, Other stress analysis software for FEA using ANSYS or STRUDL is a plus.
+ Proficient in piping analysis, normal, thermal, dynamic, vibration, seismic response spectrum analysis, Time History experience is a plus.
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all stakeholders
+ Progressively responsible commercial nuclear experience in analysis, or engineering is a plus
+ Prior experience in consulting engineering environment or with a utility is highly desirable.
