Overview
Expected pay for this position is $29.61 - $34.84/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental Health and Safety Officer is responsible for working with and supporting members of local Operating Unit leadership teams, Ministry Facilities Planning and Operations, Construction, Regulatory Compliance team members, and other OSF team members as appropriate, to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Environment of Care and Life Safety programs and to ensure compliance with regulatory and OSF requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses/Certifications: Must become certified as a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, Certified Life Safety Specialist - HC, or Certified Healthcare Environmental Manager within 2 years of employment. Certification is a requirement of the position and must be maintained throughout OSF employment in this position.
Associate's Degree in Safety or related technical field, OR High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience in the safety field.
Other skills/knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field.
Experience: 5 years of experience in the safety field.
License/Certifications: Certification in the safety field.
Other requirements/information: Ability to regularly travel between various sites.
