Job Summary:
The Director of Business Innovation and Analyticswill serve NorthShore Foundation as the primary resource to integrate prospect research, reporting and data analytics. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across the Foundation to serve as a resource and advisor to strategically use information to make data-driven decisions. The Director Business Innovation and Analytics will provide a vision and plan improve fundraising operations efficiencies, build solutions, and provide insights to meet the needs of the Foundation as we continue on the journey to be a best-in-class fundraising operation.
Reporting to the AVP of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for directly supervising and managing a team of three FTE's: Manager Annual Giving & Marketing Analytics, Manager Philanthropic Research and Manager Operations. The Foundation uses Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack, and this new role will help to maximize process improvements and optimize the new Salesforce tools and suite of applications available.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborates across the full Foundation team, strategizing closely with Donor Development, to provide analytics needs, to deliver timely, accurate and actionable information across all levels of gifts to achieve philanthropic goals.
Leveraging both qualitative and quantitate analysis to strategically drive the pipeline and other business procedures for future growth.
Developing, documenting, executing and disseminating data visualizations, reports, and dashboards.
Providing leadership to create weekly and monthly reports, along with AD Hoc reports, using Salesforce, Apsona, Tableau and other reporting tools.
Forecasting trends for revenue and fundraising targets, and identifying high-level trends across user segments and time periods. Works with peers, business partners and vendors to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships.
Assessing and providing recommendations to optimize donor and prospect list requests supported by the entire Operations team.
Providing leadership and consultation for continued enhancement and optimization of prospect management process and tools to quickly build and expand our pipeline.
Work with team to continue to optimize the high volume patient feed in effort to efficiently segment into mass appeals and gift officer portfolios.
In collaboration with the Data and Donor Services team, implement process improvements that increase the efficiency of our data collection, monitoring, and integrated applications.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Formal Education Required:
Bachelor's degree is required, with a preferred bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field.
License and/or Certification Required:
None
Minimum Length and Nature of Experience Required:
At least eight (8) years of progressively advanced reporting and data management and visualization experience, with complex reporting requirements is required.
At least six (6) years management experience, including experienced manager who has led staff through innovation and change.
Experience with Salesforce (particularly Nonprofit Success Pack), Apsona, Tableau is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of fundraising operations best practices within healthcare or higher education. Experience supporting nonprofit organizations, specifically a comprehensive development program. Experience in building and expanding pipelines.
Special Knowledge and Skills Required:
Strong leadership, team building, project management, and customer-service orientation are key characteristics of a successful candidate for this position.

Fast-paced and results oriented with the ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements.
Work effectively on teams comprised of business analysts, technical staff, fundraising staff and subject matter experts.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills. Understanding of data logic and the analytical capability to evaluate and create solutions for end users.
Experience facilitating meetings and providing end-user training is required.
Must communicate effectively and have excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration, internally, with vendors and across NorthShore's matrixed organization; demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
