Patrick Engineering, A RINA company, is gearing up for substantial growth and as part of this growth, is seeking a Business Development Lead who will focus on industry engagement and business development.
Job Summary
The Business Development (BD) Lead is responsible for leading the development of new project and program opportunities with industrial and manufacturing clients. These opportunities include industrial and institutional infrastructure projects, site development and logistics projects, as well as manufacturing process projects. More specifically, services provided include electrical engineering (high, medium and low voltage controls), specialty structural engineering for unique support structures, utility and maintenance buildings, tank storage and other structures, site civil/geotechnical and environmental, industrial rail and logistics engineering, and turn-key design-build construction.
The BD Lead will be responsible for working with the Division Leadership Team to identify and engage new clients and coordinate various Patrick services and solutions to meet client needs. In addition, the BD Lead will be an important interface between Patrick and RINA, helping to expand North American market presence, the introduction of new services and capabilities to the Patrick portfolio, and coordinating the historic business relationships and contacts between the two entities to gain benefit of the combined entity.
What You Will Do
Provide insight and analysis of potential client opportunities and project opportunities that are aligned with the total services available at Patrick.
Research market trends, key client capital plans, and other data to guide sales strategy and decision making.
Develop clients, opportunities, and targets to create a healthy sales funnel that supports the growth objectives of the Division and the company.
Meet or exceed net sales targets (booked work under contract) established during various business planning efforts throughout the year.
Solicit and participate in the negotiation of client contracts.
Seek opportunities for Patrick to provide a "turnkey" solution leveraging our professional services and our construction capabilities.
Evaluate project RFP opportunities for alignment with Division and company strategy, coordinate pursuit activities with Marketing, and assist division in preparing RFP responses.
Manage the business development pursuits using Patrick's CRM system and coordinate activities with other BD professionals across the organization.
Coordinate periodic (annual) business reviews for clients with multiple projects or programs and disseminate the information from these reviews into the organization.
Manage the completion of continuous development activities identified during these reviews to ensure completion of those suggestions.
Participate in the development of the Annual Business Plan
Participate in the development and distribution of marketing materials to drive brand awareness and support business pursuits.
Support the requests for information and assistance needed to support Patrick's internal Strategy & Business Development Organization
Visit with and entertain clients as permissible by rules, regulations, and ethics.
Actively network at industry events, professional associations and among businesses with potential clients and future hires
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree preferred (discipline in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or other closely related field of study)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the professional services sales field
In-depth understanding and knowledge of the Industrial Infrastructure industry
Established network and active participation in industry groups.
Excel at developing and maintaining relationships.
Ability and flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong technical written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
Experience utilizing customer relationship management (CRM) software.
