The EHS/Safety Specialist plays an important role in Black Box's data center deployment program by providing technical expertise and guidance for safety, health and environmental programs and services across the company. The goal of this position is to assure the high quality of our operations.

Essential Functions are:
Evaluate and monitor company practices to ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety governmental regulations, including preparation of and submission of accurate and timely EHS regulatory reports
Advise management on ways to enhance employee safety while still maximizing productivity
Support business plan goals; develop and monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved
Provide safety leadership to the site by developing and installing programs designed to achieve 0 injuries and improve the safety culture
Champion initiatives that identify facility risk, prioritize risk reduction measures, and drive closure of recommendations to reduce the identified risks
Solve problems and resolve issues and concerns that impact operational performance
Assist in the safety evaluation of new projects; evaluate and recommend actions to improve safety performance and to reduce risk. Participate in any process safety reviews conducted at site operations
Develop/conduct training for both technical / management and operator level
Lead site safety committee activities
Education & Experience Requirements:
Must have strong working knowledge of EHS regulations and applicable industry standards and the ability to develop, maintain and improve EHS procedures
Relevant work experience 1-3 Years
Detail oriented and consistently meets commitments
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Experience working with Safety Programs such as Lockout-Tagout, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Permit Required Confined Space Machine Guarding, MEWP, and Ergonomics Programs. Preferred Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CHI), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), OSHA 30, OSHA 500 (Construction Trainer) or OSHA 501 (General Industry Trainer)
