Job Description
SR SPECIALIST IT, SAP MANFUCTURING - Abbott / Lake Forest, IL
Provide in-depth technical expertise and direction in the development and support of client area application systems, programming requirements, and processes, including new products or features, enhancements, and maintenance, in the preparation of application system specifications and in development, testing, and implementation of efficient cost-effective application solutions. Lead contractual resources and coordinate with off-shore teams, external partners, and suppliers in the completion of complex or specialized global projects. Responsible for technical configuration, code review, solution testing, and user training for SAP Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) modules. Serve as technical expert or lead projects and programs and technical staff to develop, test, and implement SAP solutions improvements. Devise new approaches to problems at the division/business unit. Conduct investigations and research into the evaluation and recommendation of new software, utilities, and tools and give technical advice to the adoption or integration of new technologies and their business impact. Implement S/4 HANA ERP Software methodology, including business process analysis, Gap Analysis, and Business Blueprint. Design and configure business requirements in SAP ERP Software and S/4 HANA. Configure and customize SAP software to get required business reports, interfaces, and forms. Review, validate and enhance designs. Build and execute software unit testing, integration, and regression testing, including building ERP software test cases and performing tests in SAP Software. Conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning. Install, test, and upgrade releases and associated products. Maintaining Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Service Now software tools with SAP ERP test cases and develop Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) and Batch Data Communications (BDC) programs uploading Master Data. Effectively set various configuration options in specialized SAP systems to alter program functionality as required for specialized needs. Responsible for maintaining all project documentation, including change requests, testing, and system validation. Responsible for leading SAP requirement workshops with the business for PP/QM areas. Accountable for project scope, budget, completion within budget constraints and scheduled completion dates. Accountable for successful and timely completion of all tasks and projects under direct and matrix control. Responsible for post-completion audits of projects after implementation to verify expected benefits vs. development and operating costs.
Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or in a closely related computational or engineering field of study (Will accept a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of progressive professional experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) each alternative requirement with at least 5 years of experience in: (i) SAP Production Planning (PP) and Quality Management (QM) modules; (ii) implementing S/4 HANA ERP Software methodology, including business process analysis, Gap Analysis, and Business Blueprint; (iii) designing and configuring business requirements in SAP ERP Software and S/4 HANA; (iv) configuring and customizing SAP software to get required business reports, interfaces, and forms; (v) building and executing software unit testing, integration, and regression testing, including building ERP software test cases and performing tests in SAP Software; and (vi) maintaining Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) software tool with SAP ERP test cases and develop Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) and Batch Data Communications (BDC) programs uploading Master Data.
