Technically sophisticated on the inside, S&C's future systems must deliver unparalleled user experience, outstanding long-term value, and profitable revenue streams. To meet our demands, and those of our customers, we built a real-time (RT) hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation laboratory based on the OPAL-RT platform. We are looking for an agile, creative, and determined individual to manage, support, and add new capabilities to this laboratory. The successful candidate will report to the Manager - Power System Control.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Automating the RT/HIL simulation to include conversion of grid models, device configuration through the appropriate interfaces, test generation and execution, compliance verification, and report generation.
Setting up an Ethernet/TCP/IP communication network, with the ability to control the flow of packets in order to simulate the contingencies of a wireless communication system.
Supporting and guiding other S&C engineers and non-S&C researchers as they prepare new designs to be simulated and tested.
Troubleshooting issues both in hardware and in software.
Acting as the technical point of contact between S&C and suppliers of simulation platforms.
Continuously improving one's education of both simulation solutions as well as S&C and 3rd party power system equipment, which may include travelling for external training.
