Job Description
Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks a Lead Java Developer to serve as a client-facing leader within the organization using Java and JavaScript to improve results. Specific duties include: work on enhancement or development of projects, analysis, design, providing solutions, coding, and implementation; review, analyze, and modify system requirements for tasks including but not limited to coding, testing, and debugging; consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify system objectives; solve problems preparing technical documentation and knowledge share with support resources; manage and control system development projects and undertake the most complex business analysis and software development work, typically requiring a deep knowledge of working practices and business processes in one or more business areas; and provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues to support the specification and development of software solutions. Option to work remotely is available.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related field of study, plus 6 years of experience in the job offered, or similar Commercial Insurance Claims System Lead Java Developer position. Must have 6 years of experience working with J2EE Technologies, including building, designing, and deploying web services and Hibernate components on Jboss application server or other application servers. Must also have 6 years of client facing experience that includes requirements gathering, solution discussions and engaging in providing technical support to the business users. Specific experience must also include working with insurance claims IT systems and processes. Option to work remotely is available.
