A role in a Distribution Center means being on the very front lines of getting product to the guest as fast as possible-a critical differentiator and one of the most essential Logistics functions. You’ll reach beyond the bounds of your team to partner across the enterprise and find solutions to support the business. Whether it’s through focusing on our regional or upstream distribution centers, import warehouses, or fulfillment and flow centers, you’ll have a chance to positively impact thousands of fellow team members and Target guests worldwide, further differentiating Target from all the rest. There’s so much good work to be done, from Distribution Center Operations, where process and problem-solving drive our results; Quality Management, which influences and maintains our good name in the retail marketplace, or overall Distribution Center Productivity, where we’re always analyzing and recalibrating how to best support our people, process and technology investments to support an ever evolving business.

As a Problem Solver, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our inventory by verifying item attributions. You will act as the first responder to any identified defects and exceptions as freight flows throughout a building by being available to respond to calls/alerts in real-time for operational teams. The Problem Solver will assist the Operations Managers in execution of detailed problem solving as defects are presented within these processes. This role will work to determine defect root cause, perform research of the defects, correct the defects, and document them. They will also work closely with the Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) team and process teams within the building to solve problems identified. You’ll successfully manage multiple priorities and processes, while offering a level of service that goes above and beyond the basics. About you:

+ 2 years of prior work experience as a warehouse worker, operations technician, or similar warehouse operator

+ Work independently and in a team environment

+ Able to lift and carry merchandise weighing 35-45 lbs. frequently throughout a shift and up to 60lbs. occasionally

+ Ability to read, utilize matching skills and comprehend department/product documentation

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing and competing priorities

+ Able to operate computer systems with minimal direction after receiving training

+ Ability to research defects/issues and root cause the drivers of those defects

+ Ability to navigate web-based ICQA reporting and forms (such as Smartsheet) with minimal direction after training

+ Ability to perform basic data entry and analysis in excel

+ Ability to be trained on powered equipment as needed
