Postdoctoral Research
Associate- Jin Lab

A Postdoctoral Research Associate
position is available in the
laboratory of Dr. JP Jin in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University
of Illinois at Chicago. Research in the lab focuses on the gene regulation and
protein structure-function relationship of myofilament and cytoskeleton
proteins. A broad range of methodologies is applied. Ready to go projects are
available for new investigators to produce high impact publications and develop
a productive career.

Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. Degree in chemistry or biochemistry or a related field. Candidates with the
following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
1) strong self-motivation, 2) first author previous publications, 3) ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines, 4) good communication skills (writing and oral)
and ability to collaborate with
others, 5) experiences in protein
expression, purification and biochemical analysis, cell culture and/or

Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and other research personnel to meet research objectives
Perform Laboratory experiments.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data.
Maintain lab notebook and e-files with recorded data.
Publish original scientific research in peer-review journals.
Present research findings at national/international scientific conferences.
Other research lab related duties as assigned.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications

Must have a PhD/Doctorate Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or other related biomedical science fields. Applicants within the first 5 years of receiving their PhD/Doctorate degree will be considered as a strength.
Preferance will be given to candidates with expertise in protein expression, purification and biochemical analysis, cell culture and/or immunological detection methods.
