Japanese Bilingual Sales and Marketing Associate
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid: Work from Home up to 2-3 days/week)
Report to: Vice President
FLSA Code: Direct Hire, Exempt
Working Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm


OVERVIEW:
A consulting and marketing firm is looking for a highly motivated Japanese Bilingual Sales and Marketing Associate to join the team. The firm works primarily with Japanese manufacturing companies to support their expansion into the U.S. market. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of clients' businesses by providing market research and analysis, business plan development, OEM partner development, sales network development, and sales and marketing support including website and marketing material development.
The role is great for entry to junior level candidates who are passionate about Japan and would like to get your foot in the door of its manufacturing industry. Through this role, you will learn a wide range of products directly from executives at various client companies and can challenge your creativity and strategic thinking skills to help their business success in the U.S.
The position is also eligible for commission and profit share on the top of the base salary and benefit package. The firm is on the growth phase with the target to double the revenue and expecting this role to become one of the key executive members of the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
* Develop new business opportunities by identifying and contacting potential customers through cold calling, email, and other outreach methods.
* Maintain and grow existing accounts by providing excellent customer service and support.
* Communicate closely with executives of Japanese manufacturers to understand their needs and develop sales channels and OEM partners.
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential sales opportunities and develop business plans for clients.
* Identify and match OEM partners, ensuring the quality and samples of local production systems.
* Support sales activities by sourcing and targeting customers, finding distributors, and developing sales materials and websites for our clients' successful U.S. business.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the team to create marketing strategies and campaigns that drive sales growth.
* Monitor industry trends and provide insights to clients to help them stay ahead of the competition.
* Continuously make an effort on gaining product knowledge and familiarity with the product markets. Seek out ways to improve work processes.
* Follow up to ensure timely completion of any assigned work.
* Attend industry events and conferences to stay up-to-date on market trends and developments.
* Other duties requested by Management.

 


QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communication or related field; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
* Bilingual English and Japanese skills (Japanese level: Basic to intermediate)
* 0-2 years of experience in sales, marketing or customer service experience.
* Willing to learn knowledge in market analysis and SNS marketing (Facebook, SEO by Google AdWords and Thomas Net).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with local (U.S.) key personnels at factories, distributors and other channels.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Able to visit customers, trade shows, and affiliated companies with the Manager. Valid driver's license to visit by yourself may be required in the future.
* Able to attend business trips in frequency of once a month for day trip or overnight trip. International travel (to Japan) may be included in the future.
