The Maintenance Mechanic for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the upkeep of manufacturing equipment and systems, light fabrication as needed, generating requisitions for materials, equipment, etc. monitoring work being performed by outside contractors, completing all 5S duties as directed and following safety standards which comply with all company, local, state, and federal guidelines.
This position is part of the Manufacturing Maintenance and Engineering team located in Richmond, Illinois and will be on site, reporting to the Manufacturing Science & Engineering Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Repair/service various types of production equipment (blending, filling, capping, labeling, milling, heating/cooling tunnels etc.)
+ Perform scheduled preventative and reactive maintenance work
+ Diagnose and repair various systems (Low voltage wiring and controls, Industrial electric, Mechanical drives, gearmotors, timing belts, bearings, and Hydraulic and pneumatic lubrication systems)
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ 3+ years proven track record of experience in production equipment maintenance
+ Maintain availability as required for on-call maintenance rotation
+ Must be able to exert 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly; Standing/walking is required up to 90% of the workday
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Must be able to read, understand and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings or schematics
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, electrical & mechanical aptitude
