+ Data Standard Specialist Needed ! We are building out a team of varying levels (junior, mid-Journeyman and senior) for a new initiative supporting a modernization project for the CDC.

+ The work will be on site at CDC Headquarters in Atlanta, GA with the option for remote work.

What You Will Do:

+ Ensure modern core data sources are effectively utilized and maintained in compliance with industry standards.

+ Develop and implement data standards, including data definitions, data formats, and data structures.

+ Work with IT teams and other stakeholders to ensure that the data standards are integrated effectively into systems and processes.

+ Provide guidance and training to other teams, such as data analysts and IT professionals, on how to apply the data standards.

+ Maintain data standards by monitoring and updating them as needed.

+ Assess data collection, storage, and analysis processes; monitor process compliance to ensure consistency and accuracy.

+ Conduct data quality assessments to ensure that data is accurate, complete, and consistent with the data standards; identify gaps and corrective actions as required.

+ Utilize data quality tools and methodologies to identify data quality issues and to develop strategies to address them.

+ Collaborate with other teams, such as data governance and compliance, to ensure that the data standards are aligned with regulatory requirements and the organizational policies and procedures.

What You Will Need:

+ Bachelor’s or higher degree with experience developing, implementing, and maintaining data standards

+ Expertise in data models, formats, and structures as well as collection, classification, validation, storage, and analysis tools and methodologies

+ Proficient in defining data dictionaries, developing data standards, and diagnosing/remediating issues for improvement

+ Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, including exceptional attention to detail

+ Ability to effectively and confidently communicate complex concepts – in speaking and writing -with team members and all levels of technical and nontechnical client stakeholders

+ Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects concurrently, work collaboratively with diverse teams, meet deadlines, and deliver quality

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

What Would Be Nice to Have:

+ Experience working in public health research environment

Strong understanding of metadata standards (Dublin Core, ISO 11179)

The annual salary range for this position is $89,100.00-$133,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
